Born and raised in Grosse Pointe, MI, Katelyn has dedicated her life to dance and the performing arts. From taking dance classes to performing in local musical productions, Katelyn's involvement in the arts has shaped her life in many ways. Her pre-collegiate dance training finished at Dancers Workshop in St. Clair Shores, where she completed her competitive training after seven years of diligence with studio dance. In these years, Katelyn had won many awards and received multiple national invitations for her performances. Also at this time, Katelyn was cast and performed in over eight stage productions including The Sound of Music (Frau Schmidt), Noises Off (Brooke/Vicki), and Peter Pan (Tootles).

 

In her collegiate years, Katelyn attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and studied toward her Bachelor of Science in Dance degree. At Wayne State, Katelyn had various performance and choreographic opportunities in contemporary dance and musical theater within the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance. In addition to her collegiate training, Katelyn completed a five-month administrative internship at Anchor Bay Dance Center where she shadowed and assisted the studio owner. Katelyn continues to teach and choreograph in the Metro-Detroit area. 

 

Katelyn has trained her dance technique under many established artists such as Dr. Biba Bell, Hannah Andersen, Dr. RAS Mikey Courtney, Jessica Thomas, Brandon Koespell, and Katherine Philliben. She has also performed in the works of creative professionals including Lawrence Fung, Amy Miller, Joe Bailey, Jill Dion, and Leah O'Donnell. She continues to work with other collaborators and seeks opportunities in many artistic genres. With studying under many unique artists, Katelyn continues to grow as a creative and find her own voice within the arts community. Katelyn brings a polished and captivating authenticity to her work alongside her strong and versatile artistic background.
